Annual Chapter Member Dues
|
There are currently over 80 chapters in North America throughout 35 states and provinces. To hook up with an existing chapter in your area, check out our current chapter listings by location or by chapter name.
Members
There are national bylaws and oftentimes, chapter bylaws that a potential member must agree to abide by. Most bylaws are centered around safety issues for riders and outline officer positions. Eligibility is based on women owning or and/or operating a motorcycle who possess a valid and lawful motorcycle riding endorsement or permit. Annual dues are paid to nationals and each chapter sets their own due amounts (some go without).
For every five riders, a chapter may include one nonrider as a member (up to three nonriders per chapter). Again, this depends on the local chapter bylaws.
Membership Privileges
Chapter members may wear a back patch with the Women in the Wind lady logo. Generally chapters designate a color for their particular group.
Starting a Chapter
Basic requirements of a new chapter are to make a request to the international secretary. Include your proposed chapter name, a list of names and addresses of members (3 minimum), serve a minimum probation period of three months. You must also show proof of three meeting/rides. Probationary chapter members have associate member status.
Please include your postal mail address so we can send you a start-up packet. If you live within 50 miles of an existing chapter, consider contacting that chapter.
